Home remedy blackhead treatments

For those who prefer not to seek professional medical advice or use chemicals to help clear their blackheads, then i suggest home remedy blackhead treatments will be the best for them.

Most of the ingredients in these home remedies can be picked up at your local supermarket or you might even already have them at home! GROB.com has given each a rating and so have the GROB.com users, which will help you decide which treatment to use.


Before you use any of these methods..

Fill your bowl or sink with hot water (not boiling), hover your face over the water for 5 to 10 minutes. Hold a towel over your head for best results. This will steam your face and open up the pores and soften the blackheads.

Method 1

  • This methods works best at preventing further blackheads.
  • To make this paste you will need to mix;
    • Teaspoon x1 of groundnut oil
    • Teaspoon x1 of fresh lime juice
  • Mix the paste well together and then apply to your face, rubbing it in especially around the T-Zone.
  • Leave on for 10 - 15 minutes to let it dry and then wash off with warm water.
  • You can do this daily. (Maximum)

Method 2
  • Crush up  2 or 3 soluble asprin tablets with a spoon.
  • Add a few drops of water to form a paste.
  • Apply to your face, making sure you're careful around the eye area.
  • Leave on for 15 minutes and then wash off with warm water.

Method 3
  • To make this paste, you will need to mix these 3 ingredients;
    • Cup x 1 of hot water (Not boiling)
    • Teaspoon x 1 of espom salt
    • Drop x 4 of iodine
  • Make sure you mix all these ingredients together well until you get a thick paste.
  • It should still be hot, so apply to areas that have been affected by blackheads with a piece of cotton wool.
  • Leave for 5 minutes and wipe off with a clean and wet cloth.

Method 4

  • Steam your face over a bowl of hot water for 5-10 minutes by doing this will open up your pores and soften the blackheads in preparation for squeezing them out. 
  • Wrap some tissue paper around your fingers and GENTLY squeeze the area just around the blackhead, try and get under the blackhead to push it out. 
  • Once the blackhead has been squeezed out, wash your face with cold water, this is to close up the pore and prevent the pore from being infected. 
  • To finish off, apply some tea tree cream or oil which is available from most chemists or supermarkets.

Method 5

  • Make a paste of fresh methi leaves, otherwise known as fenugreek.
  • Apply this paste to your face at night and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Then wash the paste off with warm water

  • Get some honey and put in it a small bowl
  • Warm it up either with;
    • Microwave
    • Oven
  • Apply to trouble spots
  • Leave on for 10 - 15 minutes
  • Wash of with warm water.

  • I have found this to be one of the most effective blackhead treatments around.
  • Either buy a bottle on UNDILUTED lemon juice or you can squeeze it out of a lemon yourself.
  • Apply to the areas affected with blackheads.
  • You can do this 3 times a day;
    • Morning
    • Afternoon
    • Evening
